The Weequahic Experience

Our individual choice program encourages the building of friendships while fostering the development of lifetime skills. Camp Weequahic’s program provides an exciting and distinctive summer experience where our kids EXCEL and EXPLORE in their own individual interests and still feel part of the history and traditions of camp.

Wee-Excel

Campers excel by participating in activities that are chosen prior to camp and continue throughout the summer.

Wee-Explore

Campers have the opportunity to explore their own interests through two activities of their choice, chosen daily. Each day is unique and the possibilities are endless.

Camper’s can design and create their own fun summer experiences.

Wee-Guide

Campers are guided by their own program advisor who assists them in making activity choices throughout the summer. Parents complete on-line forms prior to camp and may provide input into their camper’s selections. Our youngest campers, entering grades three and four, make their selections within four program categories to guarantee exposure to the wide variety of activities Camp Weequahic has to offer. Our sophisticated computerized system provides for daily choices and also allows us to always know where every camper is and what activities they participate in all day.

Wee-Develop

Our oldest campers, entering eleventh grade, may participate in a leadership development program that includes skill building, community service, and college preparation.

Specialty Camps

We offer one day specialty camps throughout the summer in areas such as Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Baseball, Lacrosse, Roller Hockey, Volleyball, Outdoor Adventure, Gymnastics, Performing Arts and Fine Arts. These programs are often run by guest instructors and assisted by our own specialists.

Tournaments and Intercamps

Wayne County tournaments and intercamp games are specifically arranged for all age groups and ability levels in Tennis, Swimming, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Roller Hockey, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Golf, Gymnastics, Dance, and Track and Field. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to show off the skills they’ve learned before and during camp. Therefore, in addition to our Wayne County Tournaments, we also schedule inter-camp games for most age groups and sports.

Trips

Throughout the summer, campers look forward to various trips… whether it’s a professional minor league baseball game, bowling in town, or a surprise trip to another exciting destination, everyone always has fun during these memorable outings.

Special Events and Evening Activities

Our calendar includes many special event days to enhance our regular program such as Carnival, Backwards Day, Beach and Pool Parties, Tribal and Olympics. Regardless of the session you choose, everyone will enjoy a traditional Color War experience.

Our unique evening activities complement our active, fun filled days. Some of the highlights are Campfires, Sing, MTV Night, Leagues Under the Lights, Scavenger Hunts, Talent Shows, Game Shows, and our spectacular theater productions.
