Bunks

We like to say we are ‘camp comfortable.’ All have updated bathrooms with instant hot-water heaters (may be the best invention for camp ever), individual showers, sinks and changing areas.

Our attic fans keep the cool air moving through the bunks on the rare warm nights. Purpose-built bunk beds keep the camper sleep soundly while giving each bunk ample room for their true purpose: to be a place in which our campers build community.

Each of our bunks will hold up to 11 awesome campers and 3 of our great staff members.

Dining Hall

The air-conditioned air, one of two spots on camp for this treat, keeps us all cool while enjoying a great meal from Chef Daniel and his team. Each meal has a variety of options including both vegetarian and vegan options at every meal. (And we aren’t just talking about pasta!) We are happy to help satisfy the pickiest of eaters.

Recently renovated, full of tradition, and stocked with spirit and great food! Campers sit with their bunkmates and bunk counselors at their designated tables.

Two of our own children have anaphylactic nut reactions and have spent every summer of their lives at camp without incident. That said, we are a peanut-restricted camp. This means we do not serve or cook with nut products. However, we do offer M&Ms in our canteen which could contain traces of nuts.

We have a purpose-built, separate kitchen for gluten-allergy needs. Campers enjoy three wonderful meals along with three snacks daily.

We do serve a traditional shabbat meal every Friday night that everyone, regardless of their beliefs, enjoy.

Health Center

Our residential MD, four Registered Nurses, two health care assistants and Health Center Manager do all they can to keep our campers and staff members safe and healthy all summer long.

Air-conditioned recovery rooms keep our guests comfortable while ample communication with parents back home keeps everyone in the loop. Daily medications are processed into tear-off packets by registered pharmacists and delivered on time and as needed. Our Health Center can handle everything from advil to growth hormone injections and anything in between.

Epi-pens are stationed in a number of areas around camp (including the Dining Hall and Health Center) and are taken on all of our trips out of camp.

Just in case, Wayne Memorial Hospital is a quick 20-minute ride from camp.

Athletics

Camp is run by three former NCAA Division I athletes – our facilities have to be great!

Weequahic hosts six hard-court tennis courts, four outdoor basketball courts with lights along with a full-court indoor stadium, ample flat field space for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and a newly renovated and lit flag football stadium.

For those who like to roll, our skatepark is full of ramps, grind rails, platforms and pipes. Our outdoor roller hockey rink is always busy with goals scored and defednded all summer long.

Camper who like to bound and fly will love our huge gymnastics studio with it’s spring floor, balance beam, tumble track, and uneven bars. Or, if you want a little more adventure, try our our Ninja Warrior Course!

Arts

The Art and Mollie Lustig Activity Center is a thriving spot for our arts and creativity. The huge main floor hosts a full stage with lights, sound, and is decorated for each of our two summer plays. Even more, the entire camp can fit comfortably inside to cheer our thespians on!

A few steps away is our Creative Commons. Home to Arts and Crafts, Ceramics, Fashion, Jewelry, Robotics, the Woodshop, Rockband, Dance and more, this facility thrums with life every period of the day.

Just short walk from the Activity Center, you’ll find our newly developed cooking studios: Weelicious for our younger campers and Top Chef for our older kiddos. With age-appropriate facilities and equipment, our young chefs enjoy learning the cooking fundamentals as well as competitions and play.

Adventure

If you want adventure, we’ve got it in spades! Our fifty-foot tall climbing tower offers three faces, a 300’ long zip line and ten other challenging elements. Close by, campers will find our low ropes course to enjoy with friends.

Next to the ropes area, you’ll find our Backcountry Cooking station where camper learn how to safely build and cook on an open flame. If getting deeper in the woods is your thing, our 100+ acre camp has a number of trails and streams along with lots of challenges set aside for our Camper vs. Wild kids.

If targets are your thing, we have two archery courses – one range and one 3-D experience, provides our campers with a wide variety of ways to improve. Oh, and if you are old enough, perhaps you’d like to try your hand at hatchet throwing?

Aquatics

Sly Lake, one of the best camp lakes in Wayne County, hosts the majority of our watersports. The naturally formed, spring-fed lake has ample room for waterskiing, tubing, wakeboarding, sailing, fishing, paddling and playing. Just a few steps from the bunks and with no private homes or outside guests, Sly Lake is a summer camp lake.

In addition to our fabulous lake, Weequahic offers a heated, Olympic pool for all of our campers to enjoy. A shallow entry gives way to lanes that are at most six-feet deep. The warm water makes for an enjoyable spot to learn or improve on your swim strokes or have a blast in a pool party.
