When parents hear “choice program,” some picture a free-for-all: kids wandering wherever, whenever, with nobody keeping track. Ours is the opposite of that. Every camper at Weequahic has a schedule. We know where every child is, every period, every day. The difference is that your child helped build that schedule – from short menus we designed for exactly their age.
Six periods a day. Here’s the shape of it:

Think of each choice period as a menu, not a buffet. Before camp, you and your child rank their favorite activities together, and we build their schedule around their top choices. A 10-year-old girl isn’t “doing whatever she wants” – she’s choosing between a handful of great options for 10-year-old girls, and whichever she picks, she’s learning it with her own age group.
What a real choice menu looks like for one activity period
In any single period, a rising 7th grader is choosing from options like these – and older campers unlock more, like Master Chef and high-school athlete training in 8th grade:

The daily surprise periods
The discovery periods are where the campiness lives: a fresh list every morning shaped by the weather, the season, and our staff’s talents. Gaelic football. Magic. Baking with Camp Mom Judy. A blueberry hike. Laser tag. Wee Wash, our legendary golf-cart washing station. No sign-ups, no pressure – just “that sounds fun, I’m in.”
Some things you commit to
Join a sports league, land a part in the play, or sign up for the gymnastics & circus show, and you’re in for the season – because teams need teammates and shows need casts. Kids learn what it means to be counted on. That’s on purpose.
The part that surprises traditional-camp families
Your child can make the exact same schedule as their best friends, every single day. Plenty do. Friends who want every period together simply choose together. Others match their friends most of the day and branch out for one period to chase a passion. Older campers can adjust choices at every canteen sit-down; younger campers change every other day with a staff member helping. Nobody is ever stuck, and nobody is ever lost.
And because every camper in every activity chose to be there, the energy in our classes is something you have to see. Nobody is dragged to tennis. Everyone at tennis wants to be at tennis.

Tournaments and Intercamps
Wayne County tournaments and intercamp games are specifically arranged for all age groups and ability levels in Tennis, Swimming, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Roller Hockey, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Golf, Gymnastics, Dance, and Track and Field. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to show off the skills they’ve learned before and during summer camp. Therefore, in addition to our Wayne County, Pennsylvania tournaments, we also schedule intercamp games for most age groups and sports.
Trips
Throughout the summer, campers look forward to various trips… whether it’s a professional minor league baseball game, bowling in town, or a surprise trip to another exciting destination, everyone always has fun during these memorable outings.
Special Events and Evenings
Our calendar includes many special event days to enhance our regular summer camp program such as Carnival, Backwards Day, Beach and Pool Parties, Tribal and Olympics. Regardless of the session you choose, everyone will enjoy a traditional Color War experience.
Our unique evening activities for overnight camp complement our active, fun filled days. Some of the highlights are Campfires, Sing, MTV Night, Leagues Under the Lights, Scavenger Hunts, Talent Shows, Game Shows, and our spectacular theater productions.
